Colorado South Central Camping

We have researched and assembled all the best South Central camping locations for you. You have choices of 100's of sites in National Forest, National Park, National Grassland, and Colorado state land in the South Central region.

The developed campground areas will have a fee for camping and most state and national park areas will have a daily use fee. Please be sure to check with the local responsible agency to get the most current fee and access information.

A fun place to camp is at the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area. This is one of Colorado's state parks on the Arkansas river. There are few conveniences, but the activities are great. You can fish, hike, horseback ride, and go whitewater rafting! Yahoo!

The Pike & San Isabel National Forests, Cimarron & Comanche National Grasslands are located in the South Central region of Colorado along with Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. These areas have lots of nice camping locations to choose from. While you're near the Great Sand Dunes explore the tallest dunes in North America!

You can choose locations that offer fishing, boating, hiking, and biking. Some state parks even have access to whitewater rafting, horseback riding, ohv riding, and hot air ballooning!
