Colorado Fishing Rules
Colorado fishing is great fun. To keep it a pleaseant experience be sure to check out the fishing rules and regulations for your area. The Colorado Division of Wildlife has put together a document for

Fishing regulations will also vary in the National Parks. If you are fishing in
Rocky Mountain National Park

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

Curecanti National Recreation Area
be sure to check out the Specific regulations for that park.
Fishing licenses are available for 1 day, 5 day, or annual fishing. Licenses can be purchased at over 850 license agents across the state. Fishing licences can also be purchased by calling (800) 244-5613 or online at the
Colorado Division of Wildlife Total Licensing Sytem
. No additional fees are charged for this service. Remember to Print Your Confirmation page when purchasing online.
Fishing licenses purchased through the Internet or Telephone will should reach you by mail within 10 days. A temporary authorization number (TAN) is used for your fishing license and is valid for 14 days from the date of purchase. Be sure to print out or write down the TAN and carry it with you while fishing until you receive your license.
If the license you purchased expires in less than 7 days, you will NOT receive anything in the mail. A temporary authorization number (TAN) is all you need for 1 or 5 day fishing licenses. Use your printed confirmation page (Internet) while using your short-term license.
