Colorado boating, let's go!

Colorado Boating can be a great way to have fun. With over 152 lakes and reservoirs in Colorado there is more than 150,000 acres of water for your boating pleasure. That doesn't even include our six major rivers which are the Colorado River, the North Platte, the South Platte, the Arkansas, the Republican and the Rio Grande rivers.

Colorado State Parks are great places for boating activities that include kayaking, canoeing, speed boating, skiing, fishing, and you can always take in some whitewater rafting. Colorado State Parks provide quality recreational experiences for the boaters in beautiful surroundings.

Some fun locations around Colorado for skiing and sailing include Boyd Lake State Park, Chatfield State Park, Spinney Mountain State Park, Steamboat Lake State Park, Navajo State Park, North Sterling State Park, and Lake Pueblo State Park.

Be sure and check out the boating rules for your destination. Some lakes and reservoirs have "wakeless", electric motor only, or hand powered limitations. These locations are great for canoeing, kayaking, and putting the fishing pole to use!

Before you get your boat wet check out Colorado's boating rules section on our website. It has information for Colorado boating regulations along with how and where to purchase a boat registration.

We have assembled a list of lakes, reservoirs, and rivers along with fishing information for you. These locations are by region with a contact phone number for the responsible agency. To see the list of boating locations select the boat button next to the region of Colorado that interests you.
